From Yellow to Purple to Show-Stopping
We've been the team behind the exterior of this insane machine since it became a drift limo. For the new season, the owner came to us with the ultimate challenge: a complete transformation in just two days. Here's how we pulled it off.
Not Your Average Limo
This is the world's only drift limousine — a Mercedes stretched limo that's been completely re-engineered for competitive drifting. Under that bonnet sits a twin-turbo setup pushing 1,600 brake horsepower through twin turbos poking through the bonnet. The interior has been stripped and rebuilt with racing bucket seats, a full roll cage, custom dashboard, and competition-spec steering. A custom differential handles the insane power delivery. This thing doesn't just look mad — it is mad.
New Season, New Look — 48 Hours
The owner needed the car completely transformed for the upcoming drift season. The brief: strip the old yellow colour, wrap it in a deep metallic purple, then design and install a full custom racing livery with all sponsor logos — and get it done in two days. We've been the ones customising the exterior of this limo since it became a drift car, so we knew the vehicle inside out. But 48 hours for a full colour change plus graphics on a stretched limo? That's a proper challenge.
Purple Foundation
First up — the full colour change. Every panel wrapped in a rich, deep purple vinyl. This isn't a simple car — there are stretched panels, custom bodywork, turbo cutouts in the bonnet, and all the unique curves that come with a modified limousine. Each section had to be wrapped with precision, working around the roll cage mounting points, custom aero pieces, and the massive intercooler setup at the front. The purple base needed to be flawless because everything else would sit on top of it.
Full Custom Racing Livery
With the purple base down, it was time for the graphics. We designed and printed a full custom livery — bold neon yellow slashes and geometric patterns that follow the body lines, creating an aggressive racing aesthetic. Every sponsor logo was precisely positioned: BC Racing, EBC Brakes, Strom, Wisefab, Tyre Wall, Retro, Tegiwa, Funk Motorsport, and more. The Wizz's Wraps logo takes pride of place, and the iconic "DRIFT LIMO" windscreen banner ties it all together.
Every Angle, Every Sponsor
The devil's in the details. Each sponsor placement was carefully mapped to ensure visibility from every angle — whether it's being photographed at events, filmed for content, or screaming past at 100mph sideways. The Backfire Brad branding sits bold on the doors, the tyre lettering matches the livery theme, and even the wing mirrors carry the design language through. Close up, you can see the quality of the print and the precision of the install around every curve and recess.
Ready to Drift
Forty-eight hours. That's all it took to completely transform this 1,600BHP beast from its old yellow look to this head-turning purple and neon livery. The car is now competition-ready, fully branded, and looking absolutely savage. From every angle, at every event, this thing demands attention — and that's before they hear the twin turbos spool up. It's been a privilege to be the team behind the look of the world's only drift limo, and this might be our best work on it yet.
